JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking to employ a driven and detail-oriented business development officer to identify business growth opportunities and develop strategies to increase company sales. The business development officer’s responsibilities include identifying company products and services that are underperforming, developing an in-depth knowledge of company offerings, pricing, and policies, and improving existing sales proposals. You should also ensure that the company is able to achieve revenue targets.

To be successful as a business development officer, you should be adept at negotiating business deals and able to make sound decisions that will benefit the company. Ultimately, an exceptional business development officer should have strong business acumen as well as demonstrate excellent management, communication, and analytical skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and sustaining solid relationships with company stakeholders and customers.
  • Analyzing customer feedback data to determine whether customers are satisfied with company products and services.
  • Recruiting, training, and guiding business development staff.
  • Providing insight into product development and competitive positioning.
  • Analyzing financial data and developing effective strategies to reduce business costs and increase company profits.
  • Conducting market research to identify new business opportunities.
  • Collaborating with company executives to determine the most viable, cost-effective approach to pursue new business opportunities.
  • Meeting with potential investors to present company offerings and negotiate business deals.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a sound knowledge of Branding / Advertising & e-Commerce
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or administration, finance, accounting, marketing, or related field.
  • Proven experience working as a business development officer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to travel as needed.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and management skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Detail-oriented.

IN THIS POSITION YOU WILL:

  • Proactively manage existing business and consistently procure new business opportunities.
  •  Deliver advertising revenue goals across multiple platforms including digital video and display on desktop, mobile and tablet
  •  Develop and maintain agency relationships to help drive advertising revenue.
  •  Assist with all responses to RFPs, the development of proposals, internal and client reporting, research and sales related materials.
  • Assist in building media plans and campaigns for advertisers and agencies including digital, mobile, social and tablet.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of available advertising programs, product suite and resources.
  • Represent Sporting News Media with a high level of integrity and knowledge and act as a resource for all clients and agencies.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent sales, communication, presentation and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented and solid work ethic.
  • Strong team player and self-starter.
  • Creative/strategic thinker and has the ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient computer skills including solid knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM systems. Also must have familiarity with digital analytics sources.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 6 months – 1 year experience within similar/relevant position
  • Bachelors degree or relevant

IN THIS POSITION YOU WILL:

  • Liaising with clients and interpreting their briefs
  • Developing creative ideas and concepts
  • Familiarising themselves with their clients’ products and services, the target audience and their competitors’ activities
  • Writing clear, persuasive, original copy
  • Proofreading copy to check spelling and grammar
  • Amending, revising or redeveloping adverts or campaigns in response to feedback from the creative director, account team or clients

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 years experience within similar/relevant position
  • Be highly creative and imaginative, and curious about clients’ products or services
  • Be skilled in writing clear, concise and grammatically correct copy
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work well in a team and with a range of creative people
  • Be able to work under pressure and manage workloads effectively
  • Be highly self-motivated and well organized
  • Overseeing campaigns through the production stage to completion

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 years experience within a similar/relevant position
  • Bachelors degree or relevant

IN THIS POSITION YOU WILL:

    • Translating client needs and branding strategies into design strategies.
    • Designing visual concepts using graphic design tools including design software.
    • Selecting colors, fonts, photographs, layouts and other design elements
      to communicate creative concepts.

  • Bachelor in arts or a related field, or significant equivalent experience
  • 1 year minimum experience / Fresh May apply for an internship
  • Must know the video editing/Animation tools (basics)
